The impact of the community events at Smithfield Works have attracted hundreds of local residents who come along to the free experiences which have even included free meals. Fort 2026 is an example of the innovative approach Smithfield Works have taken and is a collaboration between Smithfield Works, Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce, Stoke-on-Trent & Staffordshire Growth Hub and PR firm BabaBaboon, and the launch of a brand new competition called The Business Elevator. The Business Elevator was open to businesses up to three years old and followed a simple entry process. Prizes for 2026 included 12 months hot desk space (Smithfield Works), start-up membership (Chambers of Commerce), PR strategy session (BabaBaboon), a brand new mobile phone device (Complete Communications) 400 business cards from Fenn and branding support from Chatty Duck.

A special celebration evening also took place at the Hilton Garden Inn in June for finalists. Since opening its doors in 2022, Smithfield Works has created long-term relationships with both present and past tenants. Adele has seen start-up businesses thrive and expand their teams at Smithfield Works, a place they call home. Smithfield Works acts as an incubator encouraging new businesses to grow and established businesses to connect with the local area. At the same time, and with the enthusiastic support of Adele, all tenants and visitors are encouraged to explore the city centre bars, restaurants and local attractions, including the much loved Potteries Museum and Art Gallery, Regent Theatre and Victoria Hall.
